Quartz Carpet™ Stone Overlay

Quartz Carpet™ is a surface material made from natural, coloured quartz bound with a high-performance epoxy resin. It’s expertly hand-applied over existing surfaces to form a seamless, hard-wearing, and textured finish for indoor and outdoor use across floors, walls, and select joinery features.

What is Quartz Carpet™?

A resilient and durable floor covering that consists of quartz stones and high-quality binder. The quartz comes in various colours and are available in 1-2mm and 2-3mm sized stones. The system follows the existing substrate to create a seamless surface.

Substrate Suitability

Quartz Carpet™ is hand-trowelled over existing surfaces at approximately 5-7mm thick for foot traffic and 8-15mm thick for vehicle traffic. Suitable substrates include concrete, tiles, compressed sheeting, plaster, villa board, brick, ply & MDF

Areas of Application

It can be applied in residential and commercial projects on floors, walls, and joinery. For internal applications the ‘Pore Filled’ finish is used; the spaces between the quartz stones are filled making the floor a moppable, non-porouse surface. The ‘Open Pore’ finish is used externally as it is water-permeable and UV stable.

Why Quartz Carpet™?

At Alternative Surfaces, we’ve been working with Quartz Carpet™ for decades, and it never fails to impress with its flexibility, strength, and aesthetics. Quartz Carpet™ offers unique qualities that distinguish it from other aggregate flooring options:

  • Thanks to its UV-resistance and non-slip texture, Quartz Carpet™ is ideal for outdoor flooring including pool surrounds, alfresco areas, pathways, and driveways/garages. It’s also a beautiful interior floor, wall and joinery solution used in award-winning projects like Aesop Sydney.

The quartz stones can be applied directly over various substrates including concrete, tiles, compressed sheeting, plaster, villa board, ply & MDF.

  • Quartz stones are known for their resilience, forming durable surface that can withstand high levels of foot and vehicle traffic.

Quartz Carpet™ has been installed in some of the most prestigious car showrooms around the world including Mercedes Benz, BMW Group, Audi, Land Rover & Jaguar. It has also been installed in well known commercial Australian projects including Deakin University, La Trobe University, and HOYTS.

  • Quartz Carpet™ features finer quartz particles compared to traditional exposed aggregate concrete, resulting in a smoother and more refined finish.

We provide a variety of stone sizes depending on how visible you want the individual quartz granules to be.

At Alternative Surfaces, we present a thoughtfully selected standard colour range, and we’re also happy to collaborate on creating a custom colour mix tailored to your design needs.

Looking to add branding, defined zones, or distinctive design elements? As Quartz Carpet™ is hand-installed, our artisans can form patterns, borders, or even bespoke logos.

“I chose Alternative Surfaces Quartz Carpet for both the interior and exterior finishes of the Longueville Hotel for its outstanding longevity, texture and range of colours. It gave me seamless finish with a tough and durable edge. It allowed me to feel comfortable knowing that whilst it looked great, the extreme pressure the hotel places on its floor and bar finishes wouldn’t be a problem.”
