Microcement Colour Schemes: The Ultimate Guide
Updated November 2025
Colour selection is one of the most impactful parts of any interior design. Based on more than a decade of completed projects, this guide highlights the microcement colour trends that have shaped spaces from the past ten years through to 2025.
Dark and Moody
Matching X-Bond with moody, dark tones is an elegant choice. You can enhance the feeling of drama and cosiness with strategic lighting, which also accentuates the microcement’s natural texture. In the kitchen below, clients have used darker accent colours to emphasise the contrasting trowel marks in the X-Bond surfaces — genius!. If going for moody, we recommend X-Bond in Haze or Dusk — deeper greys that won’t feel overwhelmingly gloomy. Or, if you love earthy tones, Umber is a beautiful dark brown.
Timber Tones
Timber is always on-trend, so mixing it with a concrete-inspired finish is a timeless choice. The brown shades of wood create a sense of warmth, while natural materials are texturally a great match with the microcement’s tactile surface. Add in a pop of black, and you have a very stylish, contemporary space. We’ve seen clients pair timber with X-Bond in any colour, that’s how versatile this match is!
Beige & A Pop of Emerald
We’re currently obsessed with anything green. This combo is the essence of minimalist luxury, where light tones create a dreamy ambience and help maximise natural lighting, with a rich emerald green colour bringing some wow-factor. Create seamless surfaces in beige shades of X-Bond such as Shade, Mist and Frost. Or, go all-out with custom green X-Bond!
Pink on Pink
There’s always an eclectic new ‘it’ colour — but we think pink is more than a passing trend. We’ve installed X-Bond in a few different pink bathrooms now, and they’re all incredibly unique. Even commercial clients are embracing peachy tones. If using such a bold colour, we love to create a monochrome space to keep it feeling minimal and cohesive. If you’re interested in a custom X-Bond Microcement colour, let us know! For larger projects we can create anything your heart desires.

What colours does X-Bond come in?
X-Bond Microcement is available in a wide range of colours — from soft neutrals like whites, greys, and beiges to deep charcoals and brown. Our supplier can also create custom shades. View the standard range here.
Will the final colour of X-Bond match the sample exactly?
Microcement is hand-trowelled, so slight variations in tone and texture are normal — and often part of its charm. The most accurate way to assess colour samples is to view them in the space, in the lighting they will be used in.
Do certain microcement colours show dirt or marks more easily?
Generally, lighter tones can highlight dust or wear more than darker colours — however, proper sealing and regular maintenance help minimise this.
Will microcement colour fade over time?
High-quality microcement like X-Bond, when properly sealed, is resistant to fading — even in areas exposed to direct UV.
