X-Bond Microcement at Winning Appliances Sydney

Microcement is a popular choice for commercial flooring installations, often specified where beauty and practicality are equal priorities.

Such is the case with Winning Appliances, a century-old business specialising in luxury home appliances. We’ve been involved in multiple Winning Appliances showrooms over the years, designed by architects Cera Stribley — who’ve also specified X-Bond in various residential jobs.

In 2019, we installed X-Bond to the Winning Appliances flagship showroom in Richmond, and then again at the Chadstone Store.

This year, our team flew out to Sydney to install microcement flooring at the flagship Redfern showroom, which will have a total floorspace of 2400 square metres when the final stage is completed. Read more to learn more about the space, and why X-Bond Microcement was specified.

Winning Appliances is always guided by an enduring design ethos, featuring bespoke materials of a high quality. Each showroom reflects the customer’s personal vision for their home; luxurious, modern, versatile, functional. These are all worlds you can use to describe X-Bond, specified at Winning Appliances retail locations nation-wide.

Aesthetically, Jessica Coulter (head of interior design at Cera Stribley) said that the textural dimension of microcement achieves a “luxurious concrete finish without creating a harsh, cold environment”.

“The team at Alternative Surfaces were incredibly helpful, informative, and accessible, a pleasure to work with on projects.”

At Redfern, the customer’s visit is multi-sensory; including freshly baked goods prepared and tasted in the store. Any materials specified needed to hold up among all the excitement — something guaranteed by the durability of X-Bond in high-traffic and multi-purpose areas.

Winning Appliances takes design very seriously, both when it comes to the products stocked and the spaces they’re displayed in. We’re proud that X-Bond has contributed to elevating the showroom experience not once, not twice, but three times.
